Catalpa Farm began in 1804 When Zadock Long purchased several tracks of land to create Catalpa Farm. It remained in the Long family for multiple generations until 1974[1]. We purchased the property in 2021 to restore it to a working farm.
There are several significant histocial buildings on the property including one of four remaining tobacco barns known on the the eastern shore. There’s a smokehouse, a milking parlor, even a three seat privy!
Local Honey
We are busy setting up the new apiary. Building out boxes, cleaning frames, and planting out fields of flowers for our pollinators.
